It was raining heavily when I reached home. I looked around and found that I have nothing to eat for dinner. Not sure where to go when it was raining cats and dogs outside. So I made my mind. Pick up the phone and call for pizza delivery.

Guess the queue is long and I waited for some time before it was my turn to place my order :

Call center person : Hi, how may I help you?
Me : Oh, Hi, I want to order a delivery.
Call center person : Oh, ok. May I have your phone number, please?
Me : XXX-XXXXXXX
Call center person : Thanks. May I have your name please?
Me : XXXXXXXXXXX
Call center person : Oh. Ok. Hold one for a moment....
And the line went dead.......tututututututu....
Me : Huh?????? I haven't place my order!!!!!!!! And you ask me to hold on and???????

Hmm........At that point, I really thought of eating something else but my stomach growled, was pleading to have mercy.....I craved for Pizza, something I have been planning to eat even before I left work that day. Oh well, I will call again.

Yeh...This time it was successful. Though I need to repeat everything I said previously to the first call centre person, but at least I would be getting my much anticipated pizza later that day :). This call centre person told me that if my pizza did not arrive in 30 minutes from the time I ordered (7:50pm), I will get coupon and a free regular pizza.

I was waiting anxiously, looking at the clock ticking away. Not that I wanted that free regular pizza but my stomach was really playing an 'orchestra'. When the clock strike 8:20pm, I really thought I am going to get that free pizza anyway when suddenly 'Ding Dong'......and YES, when I opened the door, I saw 2 uncles holding my soon-to-be dinner :) :) :). They were soaking wet though they had rain coat on. Oh.....how I thanked them and gave them a considerable good tip :). They told me that tonight's order were plenty, probably due to the rain. I kinda pity them but I guess to them, that is their job.

Oh, where have I been missing :)? Actually I am still here at PG but was always tired after a full day of work and recently I have been trying to cook after work too. So when I am done for the day, it will be almost time to Zzzzzzz.

Well, the other day, YH took me to town to try out this buffet steamboat. When we reached, I was so surprised to see so so so so so many people. I see a sea of people there. Queuing up for their food, checking out new food etc etc.....

KonTse are really getting more and more creative in finding birthday present :). On my birthday, I received a very special present, a cartoon version of ME!

Ok, how is it? Nice or not? Looked like me or not? Ok ok.....closer shot.

So, what's the verdict? Pass or not? On the scale of 1 to 10, 10 being 'look very alike', how would you rate? Hmm....oh ya, gotta attached my picture here too, for comparison. I loved crystals. Loved to see its sparkled. So imagine how happy I am when I received this parcel. When I opened the box and saw this bracelet, I was a like a kid receiving her favourite lollipop. Only thing is that I don't put it into my mouth of course..:)...........

YH knew I have a penchant for crystals so he made this purchase online. It fits perfectly on my hand. Neither too long nor too short. It was a hand made Swarovski crystal beads bracelet and he chose the pattern and colour himself. I asked for the seller's address but he refused to tell me. Anyway, thanks to him :).

SG Pinang Fried Bee Hoon

I went to Sg Pinang again yesterday, a place famous for its Curry Mee. I have seen this stall selling fried bee hoon for sometime but I never had a chance to try it. Wanted to order it in all my other previous visits but at last some other cravings somehow 'crash' the plan :). So, yesterday I was very determined and yes, finally I have tried it. And how I will never regret it.

It looked like a normal plate of fried bee hoon but it was really nice. The uncle (owner of the stall) will deep fried the fish flesh and prawns as at when you place the order and so, when it was served, you will get a plate of hot, freshly fried meal. Imagine the sweetness of the fish, tasty bee hoon and crunchy prawns......hmm.......I think I exaggerated a little bit but I will definitely go back for this.

Been quite busy trying to pick up my jobs / tasks again after all these months. My colleagues and boss have been really helpful so far. But still, there are a lot of pending tasks to be completed.......tired......:)

Ok, not to focus on job today. There is another event which is much much more important and attention grabing going on. Yeh, the 2008 Olympic that falls on 08.08.08. I believe there are a lot of people who are watching the live telecast of the opening ceremony. I m one of them, updating my blog and watching the telecast at the same time. Keep this post simple, saw and learned the following from Dragon's blog. He will always try to grab the Google's logo whenever there are special occasions / festivals. I saw one today, none other than the one that represents 2008 Olympic, hosted by China :).

First day of work........

Today I went back to work after several months of rest. Happy to be back to see familiar faces greeted me and asking me how I am now.

Met Dragon today too. He even treated me lunch :). So happy. Thanks ya, Dragon :).

But am tire now. Probably not getting used to be back to office after a long rest. Will start to pick up everything slowly and steadily now. Wishing that today is a good start for me. Papa even gave me an 'ang pow' (red packet) and wish me ' 开工大吉 ' (wishing me well on my first day of work).

Ok, will go and have a rest now. Very tired. Just wanna login and update this : I AM BACK AT WORK :).............

My Cherished Memories

People said 'A picture is worth a thousand words'. For me, a picture captured my most cherished memories. It is like pausing the time at that very moment and captured everything into a picture. Like an external 'hard disk' that kept the memories in place since the space in my brain is kinda 'limited' :).

YH asked me to sort out our previous trip photos cause he wants to have it developed. Ever since owning a digital camera, we have never really get the hard copy into the photo album anymore. The most that we did was getting it downloaded and burned into CDs. Hmm....while going thru those photos, lots and lots of sweet memories came flooding back.

Cisco Certification

IT is the field that I selected when I first consider to further my study. Why did I select this subject? It was mainly because during that time, this subject was really well-known and I know that there are a lot of career opportunities for those IT graduates. With technologies advancement, almost all companies are running with the help of computers, be it for documentation or in house applications specifically for the company.

There are a lot of subjects that you can learn from IT. It could be hardware, software, networking, database etc. In the market itself, you can come across various types of IT related jobs. You could be an IT programmer, system analyst, network analyst, server or database administrator.

Being in a job dealing with IT myself, I found that having a degree in IT alone is not enough. The technology is advancing everyday, thus we need to find a way to keep ourselves updated with the latest IT information. One of the ways is thru training and certification.

Genting Highlands Trip #2

Wow, am back finally. Hi, everyone :). So long didn't update this blog. Ok, back to the old story on my earlier trip :).

Was walking around First World Hotel when we saw this open performance by the Chinese acrobats. Am really amazed by the daring stunts they did and they way they bent their body........hmmm........speechless. This is the first time I was standing so near to the stage to watch them performed. Can even hear them counting.......

Thousand Apology

I came home to stay with my parents since last week (thought of staying with them for a few days before I start work) and I can hardly online here (we don't have streamyx over here). Genting Highlands Trip #1 - Cable Car

For those who have been to Genting, you will know that there are 3 ways to reach Genting City, by car, by bus or by cable car aka sky liner.

Well, since there were too many of us that day so we gotta separate into 2 groups. I went up by car while my sis took the cable car. So, I past my camera to her knowing that the scenery from the cable car will be much much nicer.

Hello All...Am back. Where did I go? Went to KL to visit my sis and took my parents to Genting Highlands. Am really tired but wanted to post something here :)

When you cruise along the highway / expressway, do you take notice of the billboard? If yes, do you really look at what is being advertised? Well, for me, when there is something interesting that catch my eyes, then I will look at those billboard.

Find that, nowadays, the advertisers are getting more and more innovative in order to get the attention of passer-by, consumers etc. Happened to spot those cute and eye-catching billboard when we were along one of the KL highways. Sorry ya, if those photos are not clear coz the sky is getting darker and darker (about to rain) at that time.

I saw this billboard first. Silly me, from far, I really thought someone is standing on top of the billboard :)
I know this is not clear but we were driving kinda fast so it is hard for me to take the pic. It was a bear on the top right side.

Well, we have the same sort of billboard in Penang too. Along the Jelutong expressway.

Mizi Bistro

When you read the title, guess you have known that this post it's gonna be about food again. Yeh, you are right. Went to have western food at this restaurant (Mizi Bistro) at New World Park, Penang during YH's birthday.

I made the 'hong kai tan' (simply translates to red egg) for him. Kinda conservative right? Ha ha. Some of you may be asking how we ended up with 2 cakes. Well, one was from by us (the left one) while the other one from his insurance agent who happened to know his birthday from the form she was to collect that day :). So sweet of her.

They have À la carte and set on their menu but if you pay additional RM6 or RM9 (forgotten which one) when you order the À la carte, then you will get to enjoy the soup, drink and dessert of the day (aka set lor).

Yesterday was a really happy day for me. Finally, after several months, my treatment completed. When I stepped out from the hospital, the sky was blue and clear just like the one below.

I don't really know how to describe my feeling that time. I am happy, thankful and grateful for being here today and enjoy life as it is. Though I have said this before in my previous post, I wanted to say this again here : I want to thank everyone, my hubby, my family, YH's family, relatives, friends, colleagues, doctors, nurses and hospital staff for your caring gesture and for being there always. I know some of you have been praying for me, I sincerely thank you for your prayers.

For now, I am just looking forward to this :

Vegetarian Food

Back with food again :). This time gonna introduce a nice vegetarian restaurant in Penang. My brother took me to town and we went to this restaurant to have our vege share :). It's Lily's restaurant serving various types of vegetarian food.

They have plenty of food to choose from in their menu, from Western to Asian and even nasi kandar (steamed rice with curry dishes) and nasi lemak (emm...translates to coconut cream steamed rice with spicy sauce).

What is the birthday gift? YH has always like Chinese chess set. I was shopping around for one when I saw this beautiful Chinese chess set. So this is the one that I have given to him :). It is a handmade leather Chinese chess set.

Besides that, YH also received a gift from KonTse. When he opened the gift, I was going like, "Oh, so lovely, I like it, I like it". Ha ha, as if the gift was for me :).

I have always loved crystal-like stuff. So this glass apple with our picture (taken during our registration last year) on it really made me smile from the heart. YH liked it a lot too :). Thanks KonTse :)

If you compare with other 2.0cc cars in the Malaysian market, I would say it is a good model which offers a competitive price too. There are 2 types

QEII Restaurant

Fancy a beautiful restaurant with majestic sea view and nice food? Wanna have a romantic get-away with your loved ones? Well, consider this restaurant in Penang, QEII. It is located near the Penang Ferry terminal. The food? Western :)

Was there the other day with my friend, PY for dinner. You can choose to either sit outside enjoying the scenic view and the cool sea breeze.......

or inside with the romantic settings and air-cond. We sat outside enjoying our main course but decided to move inside when we had our dessert :) (It was getting darker by then). Ha ha, we have the best of both places coz there was not much people at that time so the waiter allowed us to change our table :).

Wanna share the view we see when we were outside? It was beautiful. There was a pier with boats and yatches. We can see Penang Ferry and a cruise ship (it happened to be there). And can see Butterworth mainland from here too........

Oh, isn't it breathtaking? :)..ha ha

And yes, you may be asking for this already. We went there for dinner, so where is the food? Here they are :

Father's Day Dinner

Was suppose to post about this on Father's day but because there are too many photos to edit, gotta postpone it till now. We took our father to 'Tao' restaurant at Autocity on Father's day.

I m really impressed with the interior design of the restaurant. It was beautiful. Here's some pictures which I have taken. Hope you can see it clearly :)

And yes, here comes the pictures of the food. We ordered quite a variety of food. Too bad, my father don't really enjoy it cause he complained they are sweet. Hmm...not sure, probably due to the sauce?
My father was entitled for a half price bill (only his portion) due to 'his' day. So it was really worth it :). There was a flea market at Autocity every Friday, Sat and Sun. Though not very big and not much things to see, I still managed to get a handmade key ring and 2 pairs of earrings :).

I lost my Bonuslink card a while ago. For those who may not know what this card is, it is actually a card that we can use to collect points from participating merchandiser when we purchase their products and we can use the points later to exchange for gifts.

Well, I asked YH to apply a new one for me online the other day. He spent quite sometime on the application form, sometimes smiling at himself. I was wondering what was wrong that time.....probably he saw some funny things on the form????

Didn't think much about that until the card arrived. YH opened the letter and burst into laughter. I have this funny feelings on my mind when he told me not to get angry when I see the card.

Wowwwwww........Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.................I almost pengsan (fainted) when I saw the card.................

Aiyo.....look at the name on the card. Well, YH told me he already change the name to my actual name before he submitted the form (or so as he thought lar). Anyway, the story has a happy ending note. He did re-apply the card and the card with my correct name is safely tugged into my purse now :)........ha ha

Lok Yuen Restaurant

KonTse visited us last Sunday at my parents' home at BW. We took them to this famous chu char at Bukit Tengah (near the Bukit Tengah roundabout) named Lok Yuen Restaurant.

Well, there are 2 shops, with one that has 2 floors. If you go at dinner time, you will be sure to see that all the tables are mostly occupied. The waiter actually took your order using PDA :). Eventhough there were a lot of customers, our food was actually served in less than 15 minutes. That is also what I like about this shop, they are fast! Besides that, their price are known to be reasonable as well.

Claypot Taufu
In cantonese, this is called 'Ham Yu Fa Lam Pou'. Err...literally translates to Claypot Meat with salted fish.
This is for me :). Stir-fry potato leaves.

They have other signature dishes like sambal prawn etc etc. So, if you come to BW, do remember to try this :).

Dumpling! Dumpling and More Dumpling :)

Hello.....I'm back :). Was tired yesterday so didn't post anything.

It seems that my dumpling story is yet to have a full stop until I completed this post. Have something for all of u :). Read on and you will find out what is it :)

Was very lucky last Friday. When we reach YH's house, his mother and sister still haven't finish wrapping the dumpling. So, I took this opportunity to learn from his mother on how to wrap dumpling :). Have always wanted to learn it. Seems easy but trust me, it is not that easy after all. Probably because I have no 'talent' also :)

Here's the ingredients :

Glutinous Rice with nuts

Pork
Mushroom
Mixture of mushroom, dried prawns and preserved lettuce (diced)

Fold the leaves, put in the rice, then add other ingredients and top up the rice again

Wrap it and here's the one that I have wrapped myself..ha ha

For those who may not understand Cantonese, here is the translation :
YH's sis : She is very fast one like machine. See, done already
YH's mom : I'm used to using left hand to tie the dumpling

Mom told me this coming Sunday is the actual day for Dumpling Festival. So will be going to YH's hometown as his mother will be making dumpling for us :). Am not sure I can eat or not coz some people said I can, but some said I cannot.

Instant Koay Teow Soup (KTS)

A lot have been told about Penang's food. PG has long been well-known for its splendid food. Though we are talking about PG, but mostly it will concentrate on the island food. Few have been mentioned about mainland food, yes, Butterwoth's food. My hometown is Butterworth and I can tell you that there are plenty of nice food at Butterworth too :). I will try to recommend BW food as much as possible.

First let me introduce this well-known instant KTS at BW (at Raja Uda). Though KTS is just a normal food but I have got to say that I am really impress with the progress of this KTS shop that I know of. My family and I have been a frequent customer to this shop. When we were little, mom used to take us to its humble stall not far from where it is today. From that small stall, it progressed to 2 shop lots and recently, the owner extended its shop further to another lot which is equipped with air cond. Imagine this, 3 shop lots and most of the time, it is full with customers who are there to sample a simple instant KTS.

When we went there last Sunday, we have gotta wait for our table!!. Though they have added some side dishes to their menu eg lobak, vege, fried squid etc but still the main attraction and meal of the day is KTS.

One of the side dishes : Kong Chiang (Not sure what to call in English but it is a Teow Chew delicacies. A type of kuih with nuts.)

They have their own uniform and have changed it recently. See a bunch of people in blue with hat at the back? That is their uniform

The cleanliness of this shop is graded as 'A' by the municipal.

What goes around.........

At first, I wanted to post something about food today but something happened to me that make me change my mind. I feel that I really need to write this down.

During this period while I m on medical leave, there has been numerous calls and visits from my colleagues and friends, asking how I m and how's my progress etc. Those who did not come will also send their regards thru someone or drop me a mail to know my latest condition. Every time they ask how am I doing, I will be deeply touched as I feel that, amidst their busy schedule, they still remember me and they do care.

Today, SL and BN came to visit me. They brought along fruits for me. To my surprise, they told me the fruits was a gift from our office cleaning lady. I was so so touched. The auntie notice that I have been absent for quiet sometime and she got to know from my colleague that I m currently on leave. She has been asking them about how I m and knowing that SL will be visiting me today, she bought the fruits and asked them to pass to me.

I still remember that before I went on leave, the auntie was admitted to the hospital to undergo a surgery. We managed to collect some money for her hoping that it will help her financially. Though not really much but at least we hoped that it will be able to help her ease her burden.

Today, what she did really make me believe, what goes around, comes back around. Though she doesn't earn much, she still managed to give me something. And our office is not small either. For her to notice I m not around was enough to make me understand how much she cares.

For my friends, colleagues, relatives who have been dropping by to see me, to ask me how I m thru mail or phone etc, I sincerely thank you and your caring gesture does really make this healing process easier. To YH, my parents, sis, bro and YH's family, I thank you all for the support and for being there with me throughout this trying period. I m forever grateful to all of you and I am deeply deeply touched.........THANK YOU..........

Rubik's Cube

YH loves to play Rubik's Cube. I used to play with one when I was small. All the memories that I have on the Rubik's cube is, it was a multi-coloured cube and to solve it, we gotta arrange each faces of the cube with the same colour. I can say that I have never solved one before. Not even getting one of its 6 faces to be in the same colour.

I always thought that there is only one type of Rubik's cube, the common 3 X 3.

But when YH came back from US, he bought 2 new ones which is the 2 X 2 and a 4 X 4.

Actually it is quite challenging trying to solve the Rubik's cube. There is a lot of tactics and steps that you need to remember for different kind of situations. There, you can get to know more about this magnificent cube, learn how to solve the cube and there is even an online forum where you can discuss the magic of this cube.

As for me, no matter how hard YH tried to teach me the tactics, I still cannot remember them and sad to say, I can't even solve it till today. I think I enjoy looking at the colours rather than squeezing my brain to solve it.....

Economy Noodle & 'Mua Chee'

I like economy noodle, especially economy bee hoon. Though, it is only a simple meal, but I like it. The other day, I had it for dinner. But found that now the economy noodle is no longer that economy anymore. We have to order the 'big' one because the normal one, the portion is so small, I m not sure which part of the stomach it will actually filled up. There is this stall selling economy noodle at Taman Sri Nibong in the evening till night. I like the one there and I remember I had to actually wait for more than half an hour once (coz so many people) to get 2 packets of economy bee hoon :).

For dessert, we have Mua Chee. For those who may not know what mua chee is, it is made of steamed glutinous rice flour and then mix with nuts and sugar.

Well, the 'big' economy noodle cost us RM1.40 each but still the portion is normal only. Things are so expensive nowadays. With the price hike especially in food, sometimes I really wonder how the lower income family really survive. It must be tough for them...........

Poultry Farm

One of YH's uncle has a poultry farm rearing chicken. When I went to Ipoh last time, he invited us to his farm. I have never been to one before so it was quiet an experience. His uncle explained a lot of things to us. How the eggs were collected, how long before the chicks are ready to lay eggs, how they grade those eggs etc etc. I found out that those chicken are very clever :). They made a lot of noise whenever they sensed the machine distributing their food started to move.......

Those that already can lay eggs will be reared here. Do you see the eggs? His uncle and his workers collected those eggs row by row.

These are still consider little chicks. They are kept here until they are ready to lay eggs. Though they seemed big, they still made 'chip! chip! chip! sound :). Actually it is quiet scary when you see so many of them around you especially when they are walking behind you.

We spot this egg on the floor. It's transparent! Can you see the egg yolk?

Before we went home, his uncle allowed us to collect our own choice of eggs as 'souvenirs' :). Had a wonderful evening that day......

When I was still studying, I used to burn the midnight oil. Not sure why, I couldn't do revision daily and I will always start to study only when exam is around. But sometimes I would just look at the book, then found out that my eyes were on the same line of text after 1 hour and the next thing I knew, I wake up with the books on my face :). Besides having sleeping as a hobby, I also loved to eat. My family and YH also acknowledged that :). That is why they liked to call me Pig.

Still remember that when I was in my secondary school and it was during exam period, my parents went shopping and came back with these 'pets'. They said they saw it and found that it looked like me wor.......

New Template

My blog has a new template today :). Actually I didn't plan to change the template coz I remember I told Dragon before that changing template is like changing the feng shui..ha ha. But then I need to coz with my previous template, I found out that whenever I add new things to the template, there will be problems with the alignment of the layout. Instead of adding new elements to the sidebar as intended, it will be shown at the bottom etc. YH helped to look but can't find out what is wrong. He tried with other template and it is working fine. So I guess there is some problem with my previous template.

I kinda like this new look :). Hopefully, things will get better and better :).

Curry Mee

In previous post, I wrote about Pan Mee. Today will be another type of noodle, Curry Mee. My father is an ardent fan of Curry Mee. Of course he is a fan to a lot of foods but he especially liked curry mee. If we go to new hawker centre and there happen to be one curry mee stall, he will definitely try it. But few curry mee has won over his heart though.

One that he liked is the Sg Pinang curry mee. Whenever we planned to go to PG, he will mentioned that place. I took mom and him to that place the other day and they both had curry mee. Mom don't really like curry mee but of all that she has tasted, she preferred the one there.

I didn't take Curry Mee. I took wan tan mee instead. The taste, so so only lor.......

Pan Mee

Do u like pan mee? I know a lot of people loved to go to the Pan Mee stall near Bukit Jambul as it is quiet well-known.

Yesterday, when I was at hospital, I told the nurse I do not want to take hospital's food (I m being warded) so I told her I wanted to go out for lunch and will be back before my scheduled appointment. She allowed since I have already informed the Dr earlier and he said ok. After signing a form, YH took me to eat Pan Mee. Actually it is one of his favourites also but he liked Pan Mee where the noodle is being manually pinch piece by piece to be cooked rather than the normal ones that was put into a small machine.

Kinda of hard to find those in PG but he found one at Yee Hong. The Pan Mee is delicious also.

Father's Birthday

Yesterday was my father's birthday. We treated him to a seafood dinner since he liked seafood a lot. There was a place here that served nice seafood and I especially liked the location of the restaurant since it was near the sea. So besides having nice seafood, you can also enjoy the cool breeze and also a scenic view of the sea. The name of the restaurant : Hai Boey......

Watching the sun set while waiting for our food to be served. I have always loved the sea. So it is so relaxing to walk along the beach after placing the order

Ipoh Wan Tan Mee

YH loved Wan Tan Mee. When we go to Ipoh, he liked to go to one of the Wan Tan Mee stall at Taman Mas. Being a Penangite myself, I find that Ipoh Wan Tan Mee doesn't have the 'char siew' (BBQ pork) that I used to see in PG but they do offer more Wan Tan. YH have been a loyal customer to this Wan Tan Mee stall, around 20+ years already. From a small stall, it now has its own coffeeshop selling only Wan Tan Mee. The taste.....nice...

Mother's Day this year

Mom : Oh....Bosco Wong.
Me : Got gossip saying that he is going out with Myolie Wu.
Mom : I thought she goes out with Moses Chan?
Me : No lar, that one is Bernice Liu lar. I m saying Myolie Wu....
Mom : Oh..ya ya....mayonese
Me : No lar, Myolie lar.
Mom : Yalar...mayonese lar.......

Hospital Visit (Continued.....)

Went to the hospital again today to have my jab. Not sure why, it was more painful today. Probably because I asked the nurse to do it on the same arm. She asked me if there is any side effects after taking the jab. Well yes. I have body ache and my back is painful yesterday night. The nurse said body ache is one of the known side effects. There are others but different people may encounter different things. And you know, that injection cost a few hundreds each. I had 2. The name of the medicine : Neupogen. Hospital Visit

Today I go to the hospital for blood test. I went last week but was advised to go again this week. So the result : my blood count is still low and I gotta take injections :(. And not only one, but 2. One today and one tomorrow. So need to go to hospital for injection again tomorrow :(.

My friend called me just now. She is doing her own business now. People said, if you wanna earn a lot of money, you to venture into your own business. It is not easy to manage a business, that is what I know from her. Gotta really worked hard and manage all the risk and competitions in the market. But, higher risk, higher return. Well, hope her business will flourish.......

I have been searching for a nice Pig's photos to be uploaded as my picture. My family and YH always said I looked like PIG coz I sleep a lot. Ha ha......But PIG not cute meh. I find pig very cute. The nose and the curly tail......hee hee. Finally I found one nice PIG picture. I snap the picture of the pink pig that my parents gave to me when I m in my secondary school. I m back at BW already. While I m at Ipoh, YH and I went to eat the Wantan Mee that he loved. Took some photos and thought of uploading it here but too bad I m still having trouble uploading those photos although I have tried to make the size smaller. I still couldn't see the 'Done' button :(. The mee is nice. Thought of recommending it here.....hmmm.....nvm..will upload it someday when I get a chance to use other comp later. Too bad....

We Monkeys?? No Way!!!

I studied in a non-coed missionary school from year 1 till form 5. During our secondary years, we girls sometimes act very roughly probably because there was no boys in our school, thus, no feeling of shyness etc. I still remembered how we used to sit on the floor during recess to have our meal, my sis and her gang loved to sit on the floor under the staircase, holding the plate of nasi lemak (oh, i miss that, it was very very nice) and chatting non-stop.

I was a prefect in school and I remembered one incident during school assembly (when I was in either secondary 4 or 5) which never failed to make me smile whenever I think about it. There was this session where our headmistress was lecturing non-stop to the whole assembly of students at the hall. Me as usual was walking up and down the aisle among the rows of students who was listening to the morning lecture (well this is what prefect normally do during assembly lor). I heard our headmistress complaining on how rough we are, how we crossed the road without looking properly (there is a bus stop opposite of our school), how we chose not to walk on the floor but prefered to walk on the benches :) etc etc. Then she angrily said something like.."perempuan tak macam perempuan, macam beruk!!! (girls not like girls, act like monkeys!!!)". Wow, the word strike me like lightening. Not that I m angry but I feel funny as how all of us were being referred to the 'permanent residents' of the Penang botanical garden (monkeys). I was trying to control my laughter until I bumped into a fellow prefect among the aisle. She has this surprised and puzzled look on her face and said "So, kita nie penjaga beruk lar (so we are the monkeys caretaker lar)". That is when I couldn't control my laughter anymore. We are a bunch of monkeys taking care of another bunch of monkeys. What a joke.........

Housewives tale

I read in newspaper today that some children felt ashamed that they have a housewife mother as compared to their peers, whose mother is a profesional working mom. Actually, sometimes I find that being a housewife is not an easy thing also. Unless you have a maid that helps with house chores etc, else you will be working the whole day also. Imagine waking up early in the morning, preparing breakfast, going to the market, washing clothes, preparing lunch, cleaning the house, preparing dinner etc. It is not an easy task at all. Sometimes if you ask the housewife, the time they get to really spend on watching the television, may be less or equal to those working moms. But just because housewives didn't hold a business card like some working moms do, it doesn't mean that their role is much smaller or simpler.

With the advancement of technology, some housewives have already become a working mom, but instead of spending their time in office, they could just earn money in the comfort of their own home. That is what we call working at home. With internet connection and a computer, they could even be earning as much money as an average working mom does. There is so many ways to earn money online now. Look at the advertisement around us!! So nowadays, don't even think that housewives are the typical woman who only goes to the market, meeting the neighbours, talking about the previous day movie or gossiping about whose daughter or son got married etc. They could be the multitasking woman who not only keep the house in tip top condition but manage to earn a living by getting their fingers busy on the keyboard.

So, the next time a child is being asked about his/her mother's occupation, he/she can proudly said, "My mom is a housewife who blog profesionally"..beh tahan leh.....ha ha ha...........

Uneventful Yesterday

Since I still can't upload pictures to this blog, so gotta be satisfied to be able to online and put things into words. Better than nothing eventhough I know pictures will make it more colourful and interesting :)

Yesterday was scary for me. Actually felt tired for the last few days already. But will be ok after getting some rest. But yesterday the moment I woke up, feel that something was not right. Stomachache. I was in the toilet when I realized I hardly can breathe. Quickly came out and found myself breathing hard. Manage to see myself in the mirror and found that my lips turned white. Then I could feel everything around me is black. Managed to open my eyes and I could only see the rays of light that came in thru the glass door in the living room and all the black dots reflected from the floor. Quickly sit down and found myself sweating profusely. My father was asking me something which I could hardly find the strength to answer. Mom was asking me to do something in the kitchen and I was only able to wave my hand. Didn't want to alert them so I just sat quietly on the living room and trying to breath - hard. Could feel my shirt was wet due to the sweat. Luckily after a few minutes, I m ok and the sweating reduced as well. But still feel tired, shortness of breath and my back ache for a while. Anyway, things gradually became better by evening except for my stomach. Told YH about it and he said there could be few reasons. One, I don't have enough oxygen or my hemoglobin is low. I know one of the side effects is lower hemoglobin count but I have never encountered this previously. Although I did had shortness of breath but not to this extend. It was a Sunday so am not able to call the Dr also. Anyway, will ask him on my next visit. I m not sure if it was due to something that I have eaten.

Anyway, today I m feeling good. Try to do things slowly instead of rushing eg walking slowly. Getting up from sitting position slowly. Eating and drinking slowly (slower than normal if possible) etc. And I just had my favourite fish for lunch. Thought of taking the picture and posting it here but too bad. Anyway, there is a story that my father told me about the fish. Will update it here someday :)

At first thought of uploading the photos of the vege and fruit juice that I have been taking daily but I m not sure what is wrong, I can't get the image uploaded properly. Once it was successful, I was suppose to hit the button 'Done' but I couldn't see the icon being displayed. And IE showed 'Done with error on page' :(. Tried a few times but still failed. So......will blog about something else.

Have you heard of a Malaysian singer Karen Kong? She has a very powerful voice. She is very well-known online before she actually came out with her Malay and Chinese album. Heard that she will be coming out with another Mandarin album soon. Well, if you haven't heard of her and have not listened to her songs before, you may visit her website . There you can listen to her Mandarin songs, watch the latest published MTV and also view her first online concert. Nice :). Her latest song 'tai sha' is being played at MYFM too. She has her own way of delivering the song which was made popular about 15 years ago. Not bad........

Have not been online for the last few days. Couldn't logon to the net. So can't really update the blog.

There is something wrong today. Am not sure what is wrong but has been reflecting about life. Have been thinking what I want to do next. Not sure where am I heading actually. Do you experience this before? You know, wake up and then suddenly you don't really know what to do. Will be kinda down and will be thinking a lot about future, what you have been doing, what you want to do and what you will be doing? Thinking too much I guess.

Will be going to the hospital the day after tomorrow. Have a few questions to ask the Dr again. Am not sure the Dr is fed-up with me :). But he always ask me if I got anything to complain. And most of the time, I do.

My colleagues presented me with a juicer before I start to go on leave :). At first, the juicer was only used to produced drink that consist of celery and green apples. Then we also try with oranges and carrot. All of them taste great. We then try to mix celery, green apples, oranges and carrot together. The taste is good too.

Soon my parents begin to join me to drink the juice. That is when we begin to put more variety of fruits and vege into the juicer. I heard and read that beet is good. So we begin to add beet. Earlier I used to eat raw cucumber but now we put it into the juicer too. Initially mom is a bit worried if putting all different types of fruits and vegetables will do me good, so on my visit to the hospital, I consulted the Dr. He said it is ok and actually asked me when I started to practice drinking healthy juice. I told him since I got sick. Well, he smiled and said, people don't usually take care of their health until they get sick.....how true (as in my case). He actually suggested to put in ginger and garlic as well.

So, for one serving now, we actually put in green apple, red apple, carrot, celery, cucumber (occasionally), kiwi, orange, beet, tomato, bitter gourd (that is for my father). If you ask me what is it like, I will tell you, it's tasty and fresh. The latest addition is ginger (started today). But mom put in too much, so it tastes spicy. Gotta reduce it tomorrow.

Wish I can take the photos and publish here. I try to upload one someday. I m still a bit skeptical about garlic, not that I doubt the good things it can do to our body, but I m not sure if we can stand the smell. Hmm............

Have problem with Freckle? Dark-spot?

My mom told me that some aunties from our neighbourhood told her that egg white is good to clear dark-spot and freckle. They basically apply egg white on their face that have those spots daily and let it dry before cleaning their face with water. I guess they are using it like mask. Those aunties also claim that they see significant improvement on their face after trying this method. They were complimenting on each others face actually. But am not sure where they learn this method from.

Well, I do have freckle on my face but I m not sure if I m convince enough to try this method. Mom asked me if I want to give it a try. Well, you wanna try? If you dare then try it on your own risk (no gurantee). But if you do see improvement, then tell me :)

Short Story

I have always loved short stories or thought provoking pieces. I find them inspiring and could actually make you think and reflect on a certain things after you have read it. Sometimes was wondering how those authors came up with all those stories. Some I guess based on real life experience.

I chance upon this site while I m surfing, 'The Mind's Retreat'. It consists of quite a number of short stories and also interesting poems. Still haven't finish reading all its content but if you have time, you could pay a visit to the site. Can also read the collection to past time also. Who knows, one day you may publish your own short story........

There is a Sikh temple situated opposite of my grandparents' house. Today I saw a lot of people there. Those walking in and those inside the temple wore beautiful dresses. I saw ladies with colourful dress walking around and chanting happily with one another. Then I realized, the place looked so merry today because today is Tamil New Year.

Whenever I see people celebrating certain festivals, I always think about Chinese New Year. Though I feel that as I grow older, CNY may not be as merry as when I were a kid, but still I enjoy the preparation that was done before the actual day and also the public holiday that comes with it. I enjoy taking my parents to shop for goodies while listening to the CNY songs being belted out in the air, going to market to buy various type of food for steamboat (though I hate the price hike during that time) and planning with my mom on what to cook during CNY. But this year is quite different for me. I didn't go out and I miss those shopping that I have always loved. Probably next year, I can makeup for all those fun that I may have missed out :).

Anyway, for all Tamil folks out there, Happy Vishu......... :)

I just had my lunch. It is so late now. People should be having tea by now.
Didn't do much today. Clean the floor and has been lazing around the whole morning and afternoon. Watch a movie yesterday. Nice one. I didn't expect much from it. But after I've watched it, I was surprise I m still thinking about it until now.........
Even went online to check on some story plot which I don't understand.........*laugh*....
I realize that if I didn't publish this post and keep on dragging it, people would be having dinner already :)...........

Was chatting with Dragon. Found out something interesting from him...........I guess after knowing what he told me, I need LUCK. Lots of them. I m not sure if I m consider a lucky person or not........we'll see..........

Hurray!!!!!! Finally i have a blog of my own. I know a lot of people blog these days but still for a first time blogger like me, there is still a feeling of happiness, excitement......kinda like owning a new property. Have always wanted to blog but just didn't get myself to register for one...but finally.......people said dun put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
